A solid Soul... and the Blood i Bleed.

The Real Connection Between Pedophilia and Homosexuality: This is so important. Not only to shed light on the truth behind so much anti-gay propaganda, but to more importantly shine a spotlight on who the real abusers are - so we can stop letting them hide in the darkness and continue their abuse.

First of all, let’s clarify what the NASA budget is. Do you realize that the $850 billion dollar bailout, that sum of money is greater than the entire 50-year running budget of NASA?

And so when someone says, “We don’t have enough money for this space probe,” I’m asking, no, it’s not that you don’t have enough money, it’s that the distribution of money that you’re spending is warped in some way that you are removing the only thing that gives people something to dream about tomorrow.

You remember the 60s and 70s. You didn’t have to go more than a week before there’s an article in Life magazine, “The Home of Tomorrow,” “The City of Tomorrow,” “Transportation of Tomorrow”. All of that ended in the 1970s. After we stopped going to the Moon, it all ended. We stopped dreaming.

And so I worry that the decision that Congress makes doesn’t factor in the consequences of those decisions on tomorrow. Tomorrow’s gone. They’re playing for the quarterly report, they’re playing for the next election cycle, and that is mortgaging the actual future of this nation, and the rest of the world is going to pass us by.

Basic happy frappy DnB project I’m working on.

A little dance ditty i’ve been working on today.

Here is my final project for my Fundamentals of Audio class using Apple Logic Pro.  The project calls for creating a 4-minute soundscape that introduces 3 different emotions in at least 3 futuristic environments.  We had to include Apple loops, MIDI instruments, and our own recordings.  We had to utilize an array of both in-channel and parallel processing.  We had to group tracks to together according to content, and finally master the final output channel.

Synopsis:

Scene 1:
This is a snippet of a peaceful intergalactic orchestra, made up of Earthly African drummers and singers, combined with alien sounds and textures.  We hear this concert as if we are attending it ourselves, but we end up following the alien spaceship in its travels as it’s called off to duty.

Scene 2:
The spaceship time-warps to a distant point in the Universe.  Upon arrival through the wormhole, the spaceship is thrust directly into the center of the intergalactic battle.  The ship starts out battling in space, and then makes its decent through a planetary atmosphere in order to continue battling there.  In order to relieve that planet of its invaders, they release an immensely powerful bomb, and afterwards make their way back home.

Scene 3:
After the battle is finished, the members of the space ship return to their planet.  Surprisingly, they are greeted in the hall by a congratulatory crowd and a celebratory concert.

I hope you enjoy!

Project 6.

We had to put together another 2-minute piece.  This time, using only MIDI data (no audio files).  Mine is sort of a funky 80’s tune meets contemporary pulsing dance beat.

20 plays

My Midterm project.  It had to consist of everything we’ve learned so far in Logic Pro, using our own recordings and / or Apple loops.  Mine consists of only my own recordings.  The sounds consist of me hitting, pounding, and tapping random things in my room, including the floor, bowls, water bottles, books, my breath, etc.  I used the channel EQ to carve out the specific sounds and effects I wanted.

Bass drum = pounding hand on wooden floor
Snare = hitting thick book with hand
cymbal type high hat = tapping metallic water bottle with spoon
maracas / shaker = swiping palms together
buzzer noise = my electric razor
chain = my bike chain
“swirly” sound = rubbing the inside of my metallic water bottle with the spoon
gong-ish sound = tapping ceramic bowl with spoon
“swoosh” sound = my recorded breath

Take a listen!

My 4th lab project.  Yet another soundscape, but this one could be as abstract as desired.  We were required to use inline and parallel processing effects (EQ, Reverb, Distortion, Compression, etc.) to our liking.  We were to also include the feeling of three emotions being experienced.

My project finds a man (me perhaps?) in space in the current point in his life.  He suits up and takes flight in his spaceship.  Twice he travels back in time in his personal history and revisits moments of shame / embarrassment, as well as fear / sadness (the “bit” sounding effect is intentional).  The third trip he takes is into an unknown point in the future where he is finally experiencing unlimited joy / euphoria.

My 3rd lab project.  Another soundscape, but this time using only our own field recordings.  Again, using the Channel EQ to clean up the tracks.

This is a person getting off the MUNI train and walking around the streets in search of some entertainment.  Finally stops in front of a homeless person playing the bongos.  :-p

My 2nd lab project.  We had to create a 2-minute soudscape, manipulating tracks using the Stereo Channel EQ.  A little wonky, but fun.

My first lab project for school.  We had to make a 2-minute song using Apple loops.  Get ready to shake your ass!
